I purchased this phone set to replace an existing set of V-Techs. I needed 4 phones and this set fit the bill. What I did not expect was this set to be so awsome. not only does the intercom system work brilliantly but because only the main base needs to be connected to a hard line. you can place the other phones anywhere you like even in a room without a jack! I have a 2 story house with basement. I did not need to have a phone line run to my basement just to use the phone, and the call clarity is excellent. I would recommend this phone system to everyone.
